The importance of maintaining the NUJ advised rates cannot be reiterated enough. In order for freelances to hatch out a living wage, these rates are constructed to form a minimum rate from regular updated information from union members. In order to maintain, improve, update and continue to validate these rates, members are urged to take a minute to supply information on the rates they are earning.
